- Hi,
- While most of the threads are actually debating on whether AT should
- build some kind of AGA+ or AgaExtender or use some SVGA cards, I just
- wanted to point that 3DO and Cirrus (the PC svga cards makers) have signed
- an alliance (on 26 march) to develop new 3D chip for the PC and to integrate
- them in the Windows 95 3D API. The chips will be based on the 3DO M2.
-
- When you know how cheap most of the Cirrus cards are, it makes me wonder
- why some people still want to develop specific Amiga chips, while the
- 3DO technology will offer one of the best 3D support nowadays ?
-
- Actually, it will take AT more than 1 year to release the PowerAmiga.
- If they also need to design their own chip, we'll never see the PowerAmiga
- before 2 years !!
-
- For more info, check www.3do.com (BTW check also the 3DO M2 perf, quite
- powerful infact).
-
- Wouldn't a PPC604 + Amiga OS 4 + 3DO M2 be a dream machine ? For me it would,
- but I know some people will say it's another PC clone (Fabio B. ? :).
